Èjìgbẹ̀dẹ̀


1.      Èjigbẹ̀dẹ̀- a pair of young pigeons or doves[1]
-Mo ra èjigbẹ̀dẹ̀
- I bought a pair of young pigeons or doves

2.      Èjika- Shoulder
-Mo sùn lé èjìká rẹ̀
- I slept on his shoulder

3.      Èjìkà, Ìjìkà-1. Deep   2. Sound sleep
-          Mo sun orun èjìkà
-          I slept a sound sleep

4.      Eéjìlá- Twelve
-          Léyìn óókànlá ni éèjìlá
-          After eleven is twelve

5.      Ejìnrìn- a kind of creeping plant
-          Ó bá mi já Ejìnrìn.
-          He assisted me in plucking a kind of creeping plant called ejìnrìn
6.      Èjìrẹ́ - twins
-          Ìyá Dàda bí èjìrẹ́
-          Dada’s mother gave birth to twins

7.      Ejò - snake
-Mo rí ejò ńlá kan
- I saw a big snake

8.      Èjó - 1. Entrails of the pig fried or good     2. Over-fried fish
Ó lọ èjó ewé kókò
He grinds an over-fried coco-yam leaf
9. Ejò-inú- Intestinal worms
- Ejò-inú ń yọ ọmọ náà lenu
-The child is being affected by intestinal worms

10.Èékanna- fingernails/claws/paws
i. Mo fẹ́ ré èekánná mi
    I want to cut my fingernails
ii. Èékánáa kìnìún náà mú
The lion’s claws are sharp

11.Èèkán-àwódí- a prickly shrub used as medicines for destroying tape worms
-Babaláwo náà n lo èèkán-àwódí
The herbalist is using a prickly shrub used as medicines for destroying tapeworms

12. Èké- lie/falsehood, liar
i.                    È̩gbọn mi n se èké
My elder sister is lying
ii.                  Èké ni ọmọ náà
The child is a liar

13. Èékán- e̩kùn- a. new shoots from the stem or root of trees        b. also upright post used in weaving   c. plug or wedges            d. wooden peg
Mo ri eekan-ẹkùn nínú oko
I saw shoots from the stems of that plant in the farm
