pariwo The beggar shouted. Onibara náà pariwo.
(ii)
(V/IṢ): ra nǹkan mímu fúnni. He will shout you a drink. Yóò ra nǹkan mímu fún ọ.
(iii)
(V/IṢ): hó. They are shouting. Wọ́n ń
hó.
(iv)
(N/OR): ariwo. The angry shouts from the students interrupted his speech. Ariwo ìbínú tí àwọn akẹ́kọ̀ọ́ ń
pa dí ọ̀rò tí ó ń sọ lọ́wọ́.
(v) (N/OR):
ohun mímu fún àwọn ènìyàn tàbí ẹni tí ó ra ohun mímu yìí. You
have bought drinks for us. It is my shout after you have bought yours. O ti ra ohun mímu fún wa. Tèmi ni ó ń
kan báyìí lẹ́yìn ìgbà tí o ti ra tìrẹ.
(vi) shouting
match (N/OR): aláriwo. The meeting turned to a shouting match because of some
misunderstanding. Ìpàdé náà di ti
aláriwo nítorí àìgbọ́ra-ẹni-yé.
(vii) shout
somebody down (phrasal verb/ọ̀rọ̀-ìṣe alápòólà): fi ariwo dí lọ́wọ́
láti sọ̀rọ̀. He was shouted down. Wọ́n
fi ariwo dí i lọ́wọ́ láti sọ̀rọ̀.
